State Department creates energy diplomacy bureau

Washington-A new team of US diplomats focused on energy markets will take the lead in global discussions about oil supply, working closely with producer and consumer countries to ensure spare capacity, top State Department envoy Carlos Pascual said November 16. Pascual will head the State Department's new 53-person Bureau for Energy Resources. He said it would coordinate efforts with the Department of Energy, the International Energy Agency and others on a range of international energy issues.
