Woodside Martin well finds more gas near Pluto

Sydney-Woodside Petroleum has made a gas discovery at its Martin-1 well offshore Western Australia, in the area where it is searching for resources to underpin the expansion of its Pluto LNG project, the com- pany said March 17. The well, in Woodside's wholly owned Carnarvon Basin permit WA-404-P, has inter- sected about 100 meters of gross gas within the Triassic target, the company said. Mar- tin-1 reached a total depth of 4,778 meters and wireline logging confirmed the discovery through the recovery of gas samples to sur- face and establishment of a gas pressure gradient.
