TNK-BP partner could eye role in BP-Rosneft accord

Moscow-BP's Russian partner in the TNK-BP joint venture said January 18 it may look to secure TNK-BP's own participation in BP's landmark share swap and Arctic exploration deal with Russia's state-run Rosneft. The Alfa-Access-Renova (AAR) consortium, which has a 50% stake in TNK-BP, also said it wants to reach a "mutually acceptable compromise" with BP regarding any potential violation of their shareholder agreement as a result of the UK company's agreement with Rosneft before BP completes the deals.
