Alaska launches new investment initiative

Anchorage-The state of Alaska is launching an initiative to attract industry investment and new North Slope oil development, the state's Commissioner of Natural Resources, Dan Sullivan, said in an interview May 12. Sullivan said he is making personal calls to senior managements of companies the state wants to attract and that he had visited four firms in Houston recently. A team of state geologists will later be dispatched to brief the companies on North Slope oil and natural gas potential and an array of state investment incentives.
