Nigeria steadies oil output, but transparency lacking

Lagos-While Nigeria's crude oil production has remained above 2.3 million b/d in the last three months following the restart of more fields and production wells previously shut in due to militancy, the country is still losing billions in revenues because of a lack of transparency in the sector. Since June, crude production has been consistently maintained above the budget production level of 2.3 million b/d, Nigeria's petroleum ministry said September 8 in statement to mark 100 days of President Goodluck Jonathan's administration.
