New York-December was colder in Europe, but milder in Canada and Japan than a year ago, according to data obtained from CustomWeather and gathered by Platts. A total of 19 cities geographically representative of Europe had 20.8% more heating degree days in December than in December 2009. The total for the September-December period was 21.1% more degree days than the similar period last year and 18.3% more than normal.
