Tokyo-Japan's Chubu Electric has secured sufficient LNG requirements for the country's summer power demand, sources close to the matter said June 14. Chubu Electric, Japan's third-largest power utility, has raised its LNG purchases over June and July, buying a total of four spot LNG cargoes each month in the wake of a complete outage at its sole Hamaoka nuclear power plant in central Japan in mid-May, sources said.
