Nine companies to vie for blocks in Tanzania bid round

Kampala-A total of nine international companies have expressed interest in taking part in the licensing round for oil and gas blocks in Tanzania's Tanganyika Basin, state-owned Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) said June 12. TPDC said it received bids from: France's Total; Canada's Fort Calgary Resources; the UK's Ophir Energy; Australia's New Age Exploration and Beach Energy; US' Kosmos Energy and ERHC Energy; and British Virgin Islands-based Swala Energy. Other media reports named Adamantine as the ninth company.
