Houston-A deal between contract driller Diamond Offshore and Anadarko Petroleum involving leases on two new drillships for five years each, at what analysts said May 18 are above market rates, is part of the settlement of a lawsuit the big independent filed against Diamond last year. Diamond said in its May 17 fleet status report that the two companies have agreed to dismiss the suit, which involved Anadar-ko's declaration of force majeure on the driller's Ocean Monarch semisubmersible rig (ON 9/16/10).
