Statoil doubles Aldous oil reserves estimate

doubled the recoverable reserve estimate at its already huge Aldous Major South discovery in the North Sea, as one partner said the size of the linked Aldous/Avaldsnes find now indicated combined reserves of up to 3.3 billion barrels. Statoil upgraded its estimate for Aldous to 900 million to 1.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent, from a prior 400 to 800 million boe.
