Statoil makes small find near major Aldous discovery

Copenhagen-Norway's Statoil has made a small find with its Aldous Major North exploration well in the North Sea, near the large discovery made recently, and is considering more drilling to help prove up the resource. Statoil in August said its Aldous Major South discovery in production licence 265, which was linked to Lundin Petroleum's nearby Avaldsnes find, had the potential to be one of the 10 biggest finds made offshore Norway. Current estimates of volumes are between 500 million and 1.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
