Sydney-The Australian government has writ- ten to local refiners asking them to avoid any crude oil purchases that would result in rev- enue flows to the Libyan government headed by Moammar Qadhafi. "The refiners have also been asked to avoid any breach of Australian laws giving effect to UN Security Council and Australian autonomous financial sanctions against named regime figures," Minister for Resourc- es, Energy and Tourism Martin Ferguson said in a statement March 11.
