Houston—Contract driller Noble Corporationsaid August 1 it has exercised its last twooptions with Sembcorp Marine subsidiaryJurong Shipyard to build JU3000N model jack-up rigs, at a price of $245 million apiece. Like the four other JU3000Ns Noble isbuilding at the Jurong South Korea yard, therig will be able to drill in water depths of 400feet and to 30,000 feet total depth, Noblesaid in a statement. But the price tag for thefinal two optioned rigs has crept up sizablysince the company announced the first twoJU3000N rigs back in December at costs of$220 million apiece.
