Eu clears shell Africa sale to Vitol, Helios

London-The European Commission has approved plans by Shell to sell a majority stake in a number of its downstream oil businesses in Africa to oil trader Vitol and Africanfocused Helios Investments Partners, the commission said June 1. Shell announced plans in February to sell most of its African downstream business for a total consideration of around $1 billion. The transaction will see the creation of two new joint ventures.
