Pioneer eyes deeper wells in Permian spraberry play

Houston-Large upstream independent Pioneer Natural Resources is taking its wells in the legacy Spraberry field in West Texas' Permian Basin to deeper levels to rake still more oil from the legacy field, company CEO Scott Sheffield said late September 7. Currently, Pioneer takes its Spraberry wells down to the Wolfcamp interval at around 9,000 feet.
