S-Oil Q2 profit jumps on year, drops 63% against Q1

Seoul—S-Oil, South Korea’s third-largest oilrefiner, July 28 said its net profit surged morethan four times in the second quarter to Won239.7 billion ($227.4 million), from Won 53.7billion a year ago, on stronger refining margins. In the quarter ended June, operating profitincreased 13.2% year on year to Won 241.8billion, while revenue surged 63.4% to arecord high of Won 8.02 trillion.
