US rig count rises by 22

Houston -The US rig count was 1,882 for the week ended June 24, up by 22 from the prior week, according to Baker Hughes. The latest count includes 1,849 land and 33 offshore, with 873 assigned to gas, 1,003 to oil and 6 to miscellaneous drilling. The rigs were drilling 565 vertical, 236 directional and 1,081 horizontal wells.
