UK's Premier boosts stake in uK Wytch farm oil field

London-UK-based Premier Oil has agreed to buy an additional 17.7% stake in the onshore Wytch Farm oil field in southern England from BP for a cash payment of $96 million, Premier said June 20. The acquisition follows Premier's decision to exercise pre-emptive rights over part of the majority interest in the field BP planned to sell to privately held French explorer Perenco. As a result, Premier will boost its interest in Wytch Farm, the UK's biggest onshore field, from 12.38% to 30.1%.
