Iraq awards contracts for three gas fields

Baghdad-Iraq’s oil ministry accepted bids from three consortiums in its international auction for three natural gas fields October 20 though less then half of the 13 pre-qualified companies were active in the bidding process. The three fields on offer were the Akkas field in Anbar province, which the oil ministry had estimated to hold reserves of 157 billion cubic meters of gas, the Mansuriya field in Diyala province, with reserves of 126 Bcm, and the Siba field in Basra province, with reserves of around 42 Bcm.
