Golar, PTTEP abandon Australia FLNG project

Singapore-Golar LNG Energy and Thai upstream player PTTEP have abandoned plans to jointly develop a floating LNG project off northwestern Australia, Bermuda-headquartered Golar said January 30.The decision to kill the project brings an end to a partnership that was launched in August 2008, when the companies announced they would look at FLNG projects together in Australia and elsewhere. Golar said the companies would part ways on both the Australian deal, and the global collaboration plan.
