Cenovus eyes disposal of gas assets, but no ‘fire sale’

Vancouver-Non-core natural gas assets in southern Alberta have been targeted for sale by Cenovus Energy, as it hones in on its primary role as an integrated oil producer, with an emphasis on enhanced oil recovery, CEO Brian Ferguson said October 28. He told analysts the Calgary-based company is interested in a “gentle, shallow decline” of its gas holdings, but will not “firesale any of our assets... in a challenging pricing environment.”
