India’s Reliance cuts transport fees for D6 natural gas

Ahmedabad, India-India’s Reliance Industries Limited has reduced transmission charges for gas brought from its offshore D6 block in the Krishna Godavari Basin by about $0.14/MMBtu for all its customers, a company official said late July 20. The official declined to give a reason for the cut, but several industry sources said the move was designed to make domestic supplies cheaper than gas imported as LNG by Petronet LNG and Shell Hazira.
