London-Tighter sanctions imposed on Iran by the US and EU will have a detrimental impact on the Islamic Republic’s energy sector in both the immediate term and the longer term, the International Energy Agency said July 13. “In the near term, sanctions are expected to curtail much-needed imports of gasoline and other products,” the IEA said in its latest monthly oil market report, adding that the new sanctions exclude Iran’s crude oil sales.
