Russia’s Lukoil boosts first-half production

Moscow-Russia’s second-largest oil producer Lukoil increased its oil and gas production in the first half of 2010 to 2.26 million b/d of oil equivalent, an increase of 1.8% over the same period last year, the company said August 13. Overall crude production during the reporting period was 48.14 million mt, down 1% from H1 2009, as Lukoil’s new projects could not compensate for declining production at its aging fields in West Siberia, a company spokesman said.
