Japan sells 566,082 barrels of strategic reserve crude

Tokyo-Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry July 20 sold 90,000 kiloliters (566,082 barrels) of crude oil from its strategic reserves in Shibushi, southwestern Japan, a ministry source said. METI sold the Khafji crude, which is a heavy sour grade from the Saudi-Kuwait Partitioned Neutral Zone, in a one-day tender to a Japanese company at an undisclosed price, the source said. The crude will load from the Shibushi terminal over September 21-October 20.
