Statoil hands over Gjoa field to France's GDF Suez

Copenhagen-Statoil said November 25 it has officially handed over operatorship of the Gjoa oil and gas development in the Norwegian North Sea to production operator, France's GDF Suez. Production began at Gjoa, part of a $6.9 billion project to develop the field and the Vega natural gas satellite, earlier this month, paving the way for more activity in the northernmost part of the Norwegian North Sea (ON 11/9).
