Dubai-Canada’s ShaMaran said August 30 it had entered subscription and shareholders agreements to acquire a 33.5% stake in Aspect Energy International’s wholly owned Iraq Kurdistan subsidiary General Exploration Partners. GEP was awarded an 80% stake in the production sharing contract for Kurdistan’s Atrush Block in November 2007, with the Kurdistan Regional Government holding the remaining 20% interest.
