Kuwait raises crude oil production, export capacity

Dubai-Kuwait has raised its crude oil production capacity by 12% this year compared with 2009 through new discoveries and reserve replacements while completion of a port expansion project has raised its export capacity to 3 million b/d, the chairman of state-run Kuwait Petroleum Company, Sami al-Rushaid, was quoted as saying October 7. Official news agency KUNA quoted Rushaid as saying in a forward to KPC’s annual report for 2009-10 that current production capacity in the OPEC oil producing state stands at 2.8 million b/d.
