Vienna-BP is finalizing checks on its drill ships and is expected to start drilling in the deepwater off Libya in November or December, the head of Libya’s National Oil Company, Shokri Ghanem, said October 14. There had been some questions as to whether BP would proceed with its drilling program in Libya after BP’s Macondo explosion in the US Gulf of Mexico April 20.
