Despite late-year slide, Indian LNG imports posted 11% rise in 2009

Singapore-India imported 580,000 mt of LNG on a spot and term basis in December, continuing down a slippery slope from the historic peak of 1.168 million mt registered in August last year, the latest data from the oil ministry showed.However, December imports were 3.9% higher than the corresponding month of 2008.
