Tehran-Iranian Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi said September 7 the country has raised its gasoline production to 66.5 million liters/day, the ministry’s Shana news agency reported, enough to meet its daily consumption of around 65 million liters. Mirkazemi said Iran had increased gasoline production by 22.5 million l/d after output began in August from the country’s petrochemical units. The hike in production was in response to US sanctions banning the sale of refined products to the Islamic state over its controversial nuclear plan.
