Tepco flips to profit for October-December

Tokyo-Tokyo Electric Power Company, Japan's largest electricity producer, flipped to a Yen 19.6 billion ($217 million) net profit in the October-December 2009 quarter, reversing a Yen 28.5 billion loss for the corresponding period of 2008. The quarterly figures are derived from the utility's latest results posted January 29, which were consolidated numbers for the April-December 2009 period. Tepco reported Yen 157.7 billion net profit for the first nine months of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010, compared with a Yen 137.8 billion loss a year earlier.
