UK's Petrofac starts second phase of Turkmen project

Dubai-UK-based Petrofac said December 2 it has completed the first phase of a service contract for the giant South Yoloten gas field in Turkmenistan and has started work on the $3.4 billion second phase. Under the terms of the second-phase agreement, expected to require about two- and-a-half years, Petrofac will provide engi- neering, procurement and commissioning work on a lump-sum basis for a 10 billion cubic meter/year gas processing plant, as well as infrastructure and pipelines for the entire 20 Bcm/year South Yoloten field development.
