Cape Town-Ghana no longer has plans to buy US company Kosmos Energy’s 23.49% stake in the giant offshore Jubilee oil field, Ghana’s Deputy Energy Minister Inusah Fuseni said July 22, a move that could put negotiations with ExxonMobil to buy the $4 billion stake back on track. “We have no interest in the property. What we are saying is that if Kosmos wants to offload its share, then Kosmos must open it up to any company which might be interested in buying the shares,” Fuseni said, speaking by telephone from Accra.
