Russia's Bashneft says can develop Trebs, Titov alone

Moscow-Russia's Bashneft, the smallest of six bidders for the license to develop the major northern Roman Trebs and Anatoly Titov oil fields, believes it has the resources to develop the fields on its own, an official with the company's parent company Sistema said September 23. Russia is to hold the tender for the Trebs and Titov licenses in December, with the results to be announced by January 17. Trebs and Titov, with combined reserves estimated at 137 million mt (1 billion barrels), are the biggest explored oil fields in Russia that have yet to be auctioned. “We have enough money to develop Trebs and Titov if we win the tender,” said Alexander Korsik, a vice president of Sistema, which bought Bashneft in April 2009.
