Suncor makes sale for 'business alignment'

New York-Suncor Energy announced February 9 it has sold some British Columbia natural gas properties for C$390 million ($365 million), chalking up more than C$900 million in divestments so far as part of its "strategic business alignment."The Canadian company also reported a fire had indefinitely shut its 125,000 b/d No. 1 upgrader at the Fort McMurray oil sands facility in Alberta. Suncor spokesman Brad Bellows said the 350,000 b/d No. 2 upgrader remains in operation and that it will be a few days before the company is able to determine the extent of damage and develop a repair schedule.
