Statoil sees 2011 start for Peregrino field offshore Brazil

Stavanger, Norway-Norwegian producer Statoil said August 26 its “world class,” 2.5 billion barrel Peregrino oil field offshore Brazil is on track to start production in early 2011. Thore Kristiansen, senior vice president and head of the South Atlantic for Statoil, told reporters at the ONS 2010 conference in Norway the project was now 95% complete. The company is initially targeting to recover 20% of the reserves, or 500 million barrels. Peak production is expected at 100,000 b/d.
