Industry awaits US CFTC proposal on limits

Washington-The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission may unveil on January 14 a long-awaited decision whether it should set position limits and grant hedge exemptions in regulated energy commodities. The CFTC last week said it would convene a public meeting on that day in Washington "to consider issuance of a proposed rule" on determining energy position limits-a task currently undertaken by futures and options exchanges.
