Crescent boosts Bakken, Lower Shaunavon stakes

Vancouver-Crescent Point Energy is investing another C$1.1 billion ($1.08 billion) to tighten its dominant grip on the province of Saskatchewan's Bakken and Lower Shaunavon oil plays by exercising an option to acquire privately-owned Shelter Bay Energy. It said May 12 that the deal, if concluded by July 2, will enable it to buy the 79% of Shelter Bay it doesn't already own, adding 7,400 boe/d of production, 227,000 net acres of land in the two plays, 500 net drilling locations, C$900 million in tax credits and 38.1 million boe of 2P reserves.
