New Delhi-GAIL is in talks to buy a 4.17% stake in a gas pipeline from Myanmar to southern China and hopes to finalize the deal within one month, B.C. Tripathi, chairman and managing director of the state-owned Indian gas utility, told Platts. The $2 billion pipeline to run 870 km from Myanmar's offshore A-1 and A-3 blocks to mainland China is expected to be ready by May 2013, Tripathi said.
