Tokyo-Japanese refiner Idemitsu Kosan's consolidated net income for April-September was higher than expected at Yen 26.1 billion ($323.9 million), up 174.7% from an August 3 forecast of Yen 9.5 billion for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2011, the com- pany reported November 2. A year ago, net profit was Yen 5.842 billion. Idemitsu's operating profit surged 124.2% year on year to Yen 53 billion in the six-month period; revenue rose 20.1% to Yen 1.729 tril- lion, the company said.
