Venezuela to sell German refining JV stake to Russia

Caracas-Venezuela’s state oil company has agreed to sell its 50% stake in German refining venture Ruhr Oel to a Russian company, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said October 14 in Moscow. Russian state-controlled Rosneft, which has been in talks with PDVSA to acquire the stake, was widely reported to be the buyer. A PDVSA official in Caracas identified the buyer as Rosneft.
