Kinder weighs moving Bakken crude via Cochin

Houston-Kinder Morgan is looking at the possibility of shipping Bakken crude on a North Dakota segment of its Cochin pipeline system to connect with Midwest markets, but the project is contingent on producers showing enough interest, a company official said September 24. “Kinder Morgan has the Cochin pipeline that passes near the area” of Bakken production, said Daniel Rial, business development director for the Midcontinent region for Kinder Morgan. “Currently, it's a propane pipeline, but we're in a situation that we have excess capacity on that pipeline.”
