London-The consortium operating the giant onshore Karachaganak gas and condensate field in Kazakhstan has not been informed of any new tax claims against it, a spokesman said October 20, following reports of new irregularities in tax payments. The UK’s BG Group and Italy’s Eni each have a 32.5% stake in the field operator, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating Company (KPO), with the remaining equity owned by US-based Chevron (20%) and Russia’s Lukoil (15%).
