Rowan in discussions to sell three standard jackup rigs

Houston-A top executive of offshore contract driller Rowan Companies said December 8 the driller is "in discussions" to sell its three remaining conventional jackup rigs, but timing is uncertain. Bill Wells, Rowan's chief financial officer, said at the Wells Fargo Securities 9th Annual Pipeline, MLP E&P, Services and Utility Sympo- siums that the company is building several new jackup rigs and wants to upgrade its fleet.
