Singapore-South Korean refiner S-Oil posted a net loss of Won 57.9 billion ($50 million) for the fourth quarter of 2009, marking a 69% improvement from the previous year's loss of Won 187.1 billion, on the back of higher sales and improved prices, the company said January 29. Sales revenue rose 6% year on year to Won 4.86 trillion.
