Shell applies for 2011 Beaufort well permit

Anchorage-Shell Offshore filed an application October 6 with the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement to drill a single exploration well next summer in the Alaskan Beaufort Sea. The well will be drilled in shallow waters in Camden Bay, about 70 miles east of the Prudhoe Bay area of the North Slope, Shell said in a statement.
