UK's Centrica to pay $380 million for Suncor's upstream gas assets in Trinidad

London-UK energy company Centrica has agreed to buy Canadian Suncor Energy's portfolio of upstream gas assets in Trinidad and Tobago for $380 million in cash, the companies said February 25.The assets include a 17.3% working interest in the North Coast Marine Area (NCMA-1), a 90% working interest in block 22 and an 80% working interest in blocks 1a and 1b. Net gas output from the interest in NCMA-1 is around 60,000-70,000 Mcf/d, which has been sold under a long-term contract to a third party until 2023.
