Houston-Contract driller Rowan Companies said November 2 recent requests for jackup kit quotations have been so numerous that i they continue, 2011 may be the year the company finally monetizes its manufacturing division. Both industry-wide and at LeTourneau Technologies Incoporated, which sells jackup kits, "we're seeing quite a bit of interest in new jackups," Rowan CEO Matt Ralls said during a quarterly earnings conference call. ?°This does bear on our decision about what the right timing is" for a sale, spinoff or strategic transaction with another company in the same business.
