Talisman accelerates shale gas production

Vancouver-Talisman Energy has most of the pieces in place to complete the "portfolio transition" it laid out a year ago, with shale gas rising to 39% of its production from 6% a year ago, raising the company's 2010 guid- ance target in the midst of low gas prices, CEO John Manzoni said November 2. Positioned for additional volumes from its North American shale plays in the final quar- ter, Talisman expects average output of 415,000 boe/d from the company's far-flung operations, up about 15,000 boe/d from its previous forecast, he told analysts.
